January 17, 2007 ~ Extreme Close Ups!!
Okay, so I was completely inspired by Betty of Once Upon CC Photography to try reversing my lens to get some macro shots. It was tough to do but I like how these came out...
One of my plants (I have NO idea what kind :) )
Ice Crystals on the Ice Rink...
A frozen thorn bush...
I used my 50mm 1.8 lens for these. I changed the aperture value by rotating the aperture ring and then adjusted the shutter speed. I had to move the camera in and out to focus. I used a small aperture for all of these that is why there is such a narrow depth of field and why some parts are out of focus (not to mention the camera shake :) )

wow, great close ups...very interesting pics to look at.
I really like the frozen thorn :)
very cool shots. I like #2 the best.. but they are all good!
Awesome close ups!
I really like the ice crystals! They are all good.
I think it's a peace lilly, lol Great pics :)
Inspiration! Love those pics. I will try - maybe tonight if not this week. Any tips? I assume I just flip the lens - it attaches?
Thanks for the comments everyone! Hand Puppet ~ No, it does't attach, you have to hold it in place. If you have a lens with an aperture ring, you can adjust the aperture. Adjust the shutter on camera! HTH!
wow those are great :)
those are great! the plant is a peace lily (in case you really care).
I couldn't figure it out. The camera wouldn't fire without the lens attached. I have a 50 mm - so I will have to find some sort of tutorial - or have some reasoning to get dh to buy a macro lens for me... LOL
Awesome
ooh! that thorn is awesome! great shot!
These are great! I've always wanted to try this.
Wow, these are just amazing! I love the thorn - but also can see the frost large and framed somewhere. So pretty!
D
These are some of the coolest photos ever! No pun intended ;)
I love the clarity and the vivid color!
